The children of Kingham Primary School decorated boxes in an African style and filled them with coins to donate to Rafiki Thabo Foundation during their Harvest Festival. Together they raised an incredible £478! This will pay for two years of secondary school education for a pupil in Uganda – something that will make a huge difference to his or her life. We would like to thank the school so much for their donation!
Our Director, Janet, is just back from visiting Rafiki Thabo’s programme in Uganda. While she was there, she delivered around 80 letters written by pupils from Kingham Primary School to Aine’ Mbabazi Primary School in Kabale, Uganda. The pupils from that school have now written letters back to their UK peers. We are hoping this will be the start of lasting ‘pen pal’ relationships and a good opportunity for the children in each country to learn more about life in the other one.
